Dear Coal Creek Little League Community,

We are excited to be opening registration for our 2021 Spring Baseball season! While it’s been a difficult year for all of us and our kids, we’re hopeful to provide a viable season amid our community’s recovery and adjustments due to the pandemic. I want to make sure you know about options for playing this Spring, opportunities for financial assistance, and the need for volunteers as we return to the field.

It is apparent that our kids need to get outside and participate in group activities. This is the biggest reason our Board of Directors will be working extra hard to make sure a season can be played and that Little League baseball is available to kids in our community.

First and foremost, know that Coal Creek Little League will be implementing new policies and procedures for games and practices that will follow local, national and Little League guidance for the safety of everyone involved in the program. Things will certainly look different this season and we’re confident our families are ready to adopt the necessary changes for us to be able to get out and play ball. There will be policies in place for players, coaches, spectators and umpires. The biggest changes your players will see is distancing in the dugout as well as assigned equipment. Spectators will be allowed, as this was very important to us, but guidelines will be in place to limit contact. Our full COVID policy has been posted to the website and will be modified if/when needed.

We know this past year has been difficult, and the financial strain of the pandemic has had an effect on all of us. Thanks to the generous support of T-Mobile, families in our community have the opportunity to apply for the T-Mobile Little League Call Up Grant which helps cover registration costs. More details will be sent to all families in the coming weeks.

This season will certainly look different all around: Our hope is to open registration and then form teams by mid-March, as such we will not be collecting registration fees until March 15. Also important to note, there will not be evaluations this year. As details and deadlines are created, we will communicate those to you and they can be found HERE

And, as always, Coal Creek Little League cannot function without community support! Our league is run by volunteers including coaches, parent helpers, and the Board of Directors. PLEASE LET US KNOW if you are available for volunteering this year as a coach, parent helper, or Board Member, or if you’d like more information. Some responsibilities are as easy as 1 hour per week of your time. We need your help!

I’m excited to have our players return to the game. Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime and especially if you can be a volunteer this year to make the season a reality.

Thanks,

Desiree Ortiz
