Baseball Bat Buying Guide
by posted 03/14/2021

Did you know there are Bat Rules in Little League? Know before you buy!
Basically, all Rookies (6-8 yr old), Minors (9-10 yr old) and Majors (11-12 yr old) need a bat stamped with the USA Baseball logo indicating they meet the safety requirements of the USA Baseball Bat standard (USABat) as adopted by Little League. The bat may not be more than 2-5/8" in diameter.
Our older divisions of Intermediate (11-13 yr old) and Junior (13-14 yr old) are also restricted to no more than 2-5/8" in diameter, but in addition to the USA Baseball certification / stamp, these divisions may use a bat meeting the BBCOR performance standard.
Wood bats are allowed in any division, and more information on that can be found at the link with all of the Little League Bat Rules.
DICK's has a great article on how to find the correct bat size for your player. Much like shoes, you should not purchase a bat your player will "grow into." The correct size bat will help your player hit better and gain more confidence. Find the article HERE.
Please feel free to reach out to us by email (info@ccllbaseball.org or equipment@ccllbaseball.org) if you need further advice! Associates at DICK's Sporting Goods locations are available to help in person with bats as well.
